4 ways to get rid of blackheads

Blackheads are actually open air pimples. They can appear on any part of your body especially on the face, around the nostrils,chin and forehead due to oil, bacteria and dead skin cells accumulated in skin pores.

Cleansing to Remove Blackheads

Wash the face with good cleanser at-least twice a day. Keeps your face oil free by using oil free cleanser.

  • Use honney and cinnamon: Honey is really a natural antibiotic and works to pull out dirt from skin pores. Mix a tablespoon of honey with ½ a teaspoon of cinnamon and use your fingers to dab it onto your dry skin. Rub it in a circular motion for three minutes and then wash off with warm water.
  • Try an egg-white mask: It helps to tighten the pores and remove the clogged dirt from pores, that gives you clean, clear and smooth skin. Firstly remove yolks from two eggs and smear it into a thin layer over your face. Give it two minutes to dry and then add the remaining whites in a second layer. Give the complete mask an additional 10-15 minutes to dry, or until the whites are smooth to the touch and your skin feels tight. Use warm water to rinse the whites off your face.
  • Cleanse with clay mask
  • Cleanse with oatmeal and yogurt
  • Use turmeric and mint juice

Exfoliating to clean pores

Scrubs and exfoliators is a best way to remove dead cells or skin accumulated on the skin. Use a light exfoliator on your face thrice a week. A number of exfoliators are available in the market, however some natural exfoliators are described below:

  • Try a lemon and salt exfoliant
  • Use a green tea scrub
  • Use baking soda to exfoliate
  • Mix cornmeal with facial soap
  • Try a market exfoliant

Facial Steam

It helps to remove excess clogged dirt from the face to open skin pores and get rid of blackheads. it also makes the skin fresh. Warm washcloth can also be used, hold it on the face until blackheads has moved to the surface.

Avoiding worsening your skin

  • Don't pick or pop blackheads: Using your fingers or hands to pull out blackheads by force actually adds more dirt and bacteria to your pores, making your blackhead filled skin worse. Please avoid to touch your skin as much as possible.
  • Don't use your own blackhead removal tools
  • Avoid ultra-abrasive exfoliant: If you have sensitive skin, using harsh exfoliant actually irritates your skin and make blackheads worse. If you have any issue with harsher scrubs then try to use oatmeal as the most gentle exfoliant.
